AFLW Calling All Girls!

Tuesday, January 22, 2019 - 12:39 PM

Season 3 of the AFLW is set to kick off in the next few weeks. Following AFLW's two exciting seasons already completed, 2019 is sure to heat up even more. On February 16th,  Fremantle FC are scheduled to take on Collingwood FC at Fremantle Oval and Metro North girls have been invited to register for a chance to participate in the half time Auskick and Little League activities.

Auskick Girls in year 2 for season 2019 will be able to register via a link sent out from their local community club for a chance to participate in some Auskick grid games at half time of the match. Subiaco District Development Officer Matt Debarro had this to say, “It is always an exciting opportunity for any kid to get to play in front of large crowds and in front of their football heroes. We are excited to be able to provide 40 lucky female Auskickers the opportunity to participate.”

The opportunities do not end there; 30 lucky year 6 girls will also get the chance to participate in a half time Little League match. West Perth Development Officer Andrew O’Brien commented, “The inception of the AFLW has sparked the recent growth of female football throughout the country. Metro North has seen a growth rate of 180% in 2018. An opportunity like this is a great way to reward and inspire more girls to get involved in AFL both at school and at a community level.”

If you would like your Auskick or year 6 daughter to have the chance to participate then contact your local club and check your emails for the links to register. With limited spots and registrations already flying in, make sure you jump on fast and register.
